It is not possible. You need a crossover cable for direct PC connection to PC or laptop to a PC or vice versa
All this is a little strange when the device is a computer with XP should have installed a generic driver on the CD. I think you can not communicate between two computers with a USB cable for LPT. Probably need an Ethernet cable.
